In the Nissan community Walbro has enjoyed a comfortable market share when it comes to their in tank fuel pumps. Through many forums, tuners talk about what Walbro pump will work better with this swap and that mod. This is especially true in the Nissan community where this has been going on for a while; that is until now.

AEM has had their brand new High Flow In-Tank Fuel Pump in their line up for a while and seeks to eat up some of Walbro’s dominance in the fuel pump market. Both AEM and Walbro are easily recognized names in the sport compact market, but AEM is definitely poised to become a leading opponent in the competition.

According to AEM’s press release their pump is designed for high performance, naturally aspirated, and forced induction EFI vehicles. It delivers reliable performance and high volumes of fuel flow for roughly half the cost of comparable performance fuel pumps. Their model number “PN 50-1000”  flows 320 lph (84 gph) at 43 PSI and is capable of supporting over 1,000 HP at 43 PSI. The flow curves and current draw vs. fuel pressure graphs below give you a bit more information on what this contender can do.

With all these great features built in it seems that the AEM High Flow In-Tank Fuel Pump will be the recommended product in the near future when it comes to replacing old malfunctioning pumps (and of course when you start  performance upgrading). For $100.00 and the years of expertise AEM has in the aftermarket industry, we are pretty sure you will agree and pick one up for your car as well.

*As of writing however, AEM doesn’t make specific complete replacement kits for Nissans or any other vehicles. An easy solution to this is to simply purchase a vehicle specific kit provided by other companies, such as Walbro.
